NLP Trainer Training

Learning how to create structures that take the strain

“Let the structure take the strain.”

Those words were spoken to me by Peter Honey over forty years ago and they have stayed with me ever since.

At the time I was supporting him in running Action Training programmes. We were standing outside the training room
and I was suggesting that we needed to intervene with the group.

Peter simply smiled and said:

“Let the structure take the strain.”

He trusted the process.

He trusted the group.

He knew that when an experience has been designed well enough, people discover resources and insights that no amount
of teaching can deliver.

Looking back, I realise that I was studying the structure of experience long before I discovered NLP.

Which perhaps explains why, when people ask me what I do, I rarely say that I teach.

I design experiences.

The learning happens within those experiences.

For many years people have attended my Trainer Training programmes and learned this approach implicitly.

This programme is different.

This time we make the process itself the subject of study.

Not simply what we teach.

But how we teach.

Not simply the content.

But the experience through which the content comes alive.

What Makes This Programme Different?

This programme is designed for experienced NLP practitioners and coaches who want to develop their ability to
facilitate learning, create transformational experiences and discover their own authentic training style.

Together we will explore:

  • The design of experiential learning
  • Working with structure rather than scripts
  • How state influences learning
  • Facilitation rather than presentation
  • Demonstrations and real-time learning
  • Modelling excellence in trainers and participants
  • The use of humour and provocation as catalysts for learning and change
  • Working with groups in a way that is responsive, elegant and alive
  • Trusting both the structure and the people within it

Humour and challenge have always been part of my work.

Not as performance.

Not as entertainment.

But as ways of helping people think differently, notice patterns they might otherwise miss and discover resources
they
did not know they possessed.

We will explore how these elements can be woven naturally into the tapestry of training and coaching.

The Programme Structure

Stage One – Observation and Modelling

Participants will have access to a series of preparatory video sessions exploring the principles that underpin
experiential NLP training.

They will also participate in and model the structure and facilitation of my online NLP Practitioner Programme (this is
optional but a key part of the process even if you have done a Practitioner with me before this is a chance to model and
discuss with my my methods and decisions)

Stage Two – Core Trainer Training Programme

Online – approximately two hours per day.

This phase focuses on the practical application of the principles explored during the Practitioner Programme and preparatory sessions.

Participants will learn by doing, designing, observing, facilitating and receiving feedback.

Stage Three – Apprenticeship

The final stage is where modelling becomes behaviour.

Participants will have the opportunity to assist me on future programmes online and, where appropriate, in person.

This may take place in France, Spain, India or elsewhere.

The apprenticeship will be tailored to each individual and provides opportunities to apply learning in real situations, receive feedback and continue developing as a trainer.

For me, this is where the deepest learning occurs.

Not in talking about training. In doing it!

Investment

The investment for the complete Trainer Training and Apprenticeship Programme includes:

  • Preparatory video materials
  • Participation in the online Practitioner Programme
  • The Core Trainer Training Programme
  • Apprenticeship opportunities
  • Feedback and support throughout the process

Is This For You?

This programme is for people who are interested not only in NLP but in the art of creating learning.

People who are curious about what happens beneath the surface of effective training.

People who want to develop their own style rather than copy someone else’s.

People who are willing to learn by observing, experimenting, reflecting and doing.

If this approach speaks to you, please get in touch.

We can arrange a Zoom conversation and explore whether this programme is the right fit for you.
