Create The Business You Love

Interestingly I am regularly asked (and modeled in NLP terms) how I write a book and how I deliver real time and provocative training. I am rarely, almost never asked how I run my business. And I have run my business for over 40 years! I look around me at my home here in France – a beautiful old stone French house with a huge garden and an abundance of vegetables and fruit and I remember my earlier ‘lives’ in, initially a suburb of Liverpool and later, a 5th floor old flat in Notting Hill Gate in London and I ask myself ‘How did that happen?!” So yes, I have made money, never really lost money, laughed at the extreme situations I have found myself in, sworn at the moon, celebrated, taken crazy risks and occasionally wondered if I should just run away to join the circus. Maybe I have created the circus!
I have never followed classic business advice like – research your market, write a business plan, set goals for the future, and seek to grow, always grow the business. To be honest I have done some of those but not in the expected ways or traditional ways. I cringe when I listen to some of the advice given on social media. Some advice might result in an increasingly growing business but … at the expense of your soul?
So, I have decided to run an online programme to share some of my strategies and to be open to questions (modeled even!).
In short sessions over 3 days I will share:
- How to survive (and much more than survive) recessions, dramatic changes in the market, booms, and curve balls.
- How to attract people/clients you deserve
- And OK I guess I can mention a few ‘not’s’ … Mistakes ‘not’ to make
- How to build a business you love
- How to outlast trends, trolls, and tax bills
- How to build something that will be a legacy for others
This is the unvarnished, occasionally cheeky (provocative) truth from someone who’s been there, done that and am willingly continuing to do it. Wild horses and all that …
If you want straight-talking, laugh-out-loud, do-it-today thoughts and practice – join me.
