Kerala, India

Simultaneously exotic and chaotic, a melange of tropical beauty and dusty developments. Yet this state, Kerala, is one of the richest, ‘God’s own country’ the road signs regularly proclaim. Something here reaches out and inescapably takes a hold on my heart, gently reminding me to savour every sparkling moment.

Abéné, Senegal

Abéné is the last undeveloped rural seaside village in Senegal – only 20% of the village has electricity, and the village economy is artisanal. Apart from the annual music festival when visitors come from far and wide to experience some of the acts the village has a slow, traditional, yet active way of life.

Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland and it is located in central eastern Scotland, near the Firth of Forth, close to the North Sea. Thanks to its spectacular rocks, rustic buildings and a huge collection of medieval and classic architecture, including numerous stone decorations, it is often considered one of the most lively cities in Europe.
